Guess what?

I found another song for my playlist!

3) "Another Brick in the Wall" - Pink Floyd
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eqCHNuPWeKE

"We don't need no education
We don't need no thought control
No dark sarcasm in the classroom
Teacher leave them kids alone
Hey! Teacher! Leave them kids alone!
All in all it's just another brick in the wall
All in all you're just another brick in the wall

We don't need no education
We don't need no thought control
No dark sarcasm in the classroom
Teacher leave us kids alone
Hey! Teacher! Leave us kids alone!
All in all it's just another brick in the wall
All in all you're just another brick in the wall"

This song, especially the line "We don't need no thought control" makes me think of 1984. Particularly because our protagonist, Winston, feels that he hates being watched all the time and buttonholed into exactly what the government wants him to do, so he feels the need to rebel in at least small ways, so he doesn't get majorly punished.

In other news, I finished Part I last night, and seriously didn't want to stop reading it.

  1. This is a great song! I thought of it while contemplating what would make a great Orwell playlist too. It also reminds me of when Napoleon took the dogs to "educate" them. Psh, yeah right, more like control. Someone should have told him to "Leave them kids alone!"
